Single Quad Demo

This model demonstrates operation of a single quadrupole mass analyzer with a collisional cooling interface. The fringing fields are compensated by the Brubaker pre-filters.

Note, that all fields are presented by their axial distributions obtained from PAanalyser application. This decreases the size of PAs below 10 MB  keeping the accuracy of the fields very high. For example, 2D field in the middle section of the analytical quadrupole Q1 is accurate up to the electrode surface. This can be seen in the figure. Such accuracy, which is difficult to obtain by any other field presentation, is very important for accurate simulations of quadrupole mass filters.

The color gradient shows the pressure distribution within the device. The gas flow trough the cooling quadrupole is 200 m/s.

The analytical quadrupole Q1 has hyperbolic electrodes with the inscribed radius of 5 mm and the total length of 200 mm. The main driving RF frequency is 2 MHz.
