3D Ion Trap Demo

This example demonstrates a model of a 3D ion trap driven by the square wave RF voltage. This ion trap, known as the Digital Ion Trap (DIT), is described in details in: Li Ding, M. Sudakov, S. Kumashiro. A simulation study of the digital ion trap mass spectrometer. Int. J. of Mass Spectrom. 12294 (2002) 1–3

The whole assembly consists of two workbenches: ion trap workbench (grid step 0.025 mm) and ETP electron multiplier workbench (grid step 0.25 mm). Both parts have been created and refined in SIMION prior to uploading them into SIMAX.

In this model, the mass scan is performed by changing the frequency of the driving RF voltage.
